On Saturday, July 13th Carole Crist of CLC Global will be chairing the 30th annual summer gala for the South Fork Natural History Society (SOFO). The event which will honor Dr. Demian Chapman, Trammell S. Crow & Greg Manocherian will begin with a cocktail reception from 6 pm to 7 pm, followed by the gala reception from 7 pm to 11 pm. The gala will include live music from In the Groove Band 80s music and also feature an honoree presentation, dinner & dancing, surprise guests, and silent & live auctions!

SOFO Summer Gala Celebrates 30 Years of the South Fork Natural History Society
SOFO or the South Fork Natural History Society was formed in 1988 by a group of naturalists in South Fork. The mission of the organization was and still is to “stimulate interest in, advance knowledge of, and foster appreciation for the natural environment, with special emphasis on the unique natural history of Long Island’s South Fork”.
The membership organization began its operation out of a small building but in 2005 they opened the doors of their own facility. The new SOFO facility would soon become an acclaimed state-of-the-art museum known for its incredible nature exhibits as well as their annual education programs.
SOFO currently offers some 270 annual education programs, all of which focus on environmental stewardship, climate change, nature conservation, sustainable energy, marine science, wellness, and community outreach. As an organization devoted to environmental and community impact, SOFO holds a special place in the heart of CLC Global Advisor’s head, Carole Crist.
Carole has long had a dedication to businesses, events, and organizations that are devoted to creating change through their everyday lives. It’s no surprise, then, that a major part of Carole’s focus at CLC Global Advisor’s is bringing together those who make an impact on the environment and community and those who are able to provide the means for making that happen.
